It all began with a feeling, a calling almost. I heard a dear friend was having a litter of Canadian Eskimo Dogs, and I have owned/ trained them before so I fully knew what to expect (Or so I thought LOL) Once the litter was born I received a photo and upon seeing it, I saw my Keelut. She’s a black and white in colour and has some of the most beautiful markings, I truly was enchanted by the mere sight of her. I knew I had a connection with her before even meeting her, I also immediately looked up some names but the one KEELUT stood out the most to me and in the very same night I had a name for this special little lady. Pronounced Key-Loo, she is named after a very dark but interesting legend/ story from our Alaskan peoples (Now I know she’s Canadian/ British, I love Alaska and the legends behind it) just like that she was named and immediately admired by myself and boyfriend.
I flew day and night to London, England from Alberta, Canada with my lovely mother to accompany me (this was more of her dream than mine truly) Not only were we there to grab my newest family member we we but we were so honoured to be attending the one and only dog show Crufts! Showing in the breeders competition I was completely starstruck the entire weekend. I got a very thorough tour of the Breeders farm where I met the entire Canadian and Czechoslovakian Wolf Dog crew. I knew I loved this breeder from her ethics, to her kennels temperament and even right down to her consistency within her lines. But truly what made it even better was that we are friends since 2018! Where I attended our first ever CED national specialty in Ontario. I just knew that she had the right Eskimo for me.
Once we landed back in Canada, our training began! And so did our Show career, already tearing up the ring with 4 best baby puppy in breeds (they may be default ribbons and zero points but hey we are training!) and let me tell you this little rockstar caught the hearts and eyes of sooo many whilst rocking her stuff. She’s currently living with her dog Mom (Trynity) her big brother Cannabis (A 3 yr old bully mix) and her dog Dad (Tristin B). Watch out for us ripping the runway in the next following years to come! Hopefully we’ll have one heck of an update for you next year as a #1 Canadian Eskimo/Inuit Dog in our breeds standings!
